Report: US health care system wastes $750B a year

We’ve all experienced this at the doctor – spending half an hour filling out those forms on that clipboard in the waiting room that nobody has ever read.  Confirmed by the next 20 minutes of answering the same exact questions by the doctor’s assistant, then after that the doctor.

Maybe one day we can fill out relevant (that is, RELEVANT to the VISIT) forms a few days in advance at a doctor’s Web site, and they have all the info and have reviewed it when the patient arrives.  Someday…..Until then the waste continues

The U.S. health care system squanders $750 billion a year — roughly 30 cents of every medical dollar — through unneeded care, byzantine paperwork, fraud and other waste, the influential Institute of Medicine said Thursday in a report that ties directly into the presidential campaign.
